The Extension Problem

Browser extensions are powerful — but not everyone can install them. Corporate IT policies, guest testers, clients reporting issues, customer support interactions — there are countless scenarios where asking someone to install an extension is a non-starter.

We kept hearing the same request from teams: "I love VibeCheck for my own bug reports, but I need my customers to be able to record too."

Today, we're solving that with Repro Links.

How Repro Links Work

The concept is simple:

  1. Create a link from your VibeCheck dashboard
  2. Share the URL with anyone — a customer, a tester, a colleague
  3. They open the link and record their screen directly in the browser
  4. The recording appears in your dashboard as a normal track

No extension required. No sign-up required. The person recording just needs a modern browser.

What Gets Captured

Repro Link recordings capture:

  • Screen video — full tab recording with optional microphone audio
  • Preview before submit — the recorder can review and add notes before sending
  • Automatic upload — the recording is stored and processed like any other VibeCheck track

Since Repro Links use the browser's built-in getDisplayMedia API, they work across Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari.
